1992
S&H Express was founded in 1992, when Steve Shellenberger purchased a small, local trucking company in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The company grew its customer base and fleet of trucks with patience and purpose.

1994
After two successful years with S&H Express, Shellenberger founded S&H Transport to offer his customers additional brokerage and logistics support. The company grew to meet customers’ transportation needs by managing and evaluating multi-modal options throughout the lower 48 and Canada.

1998
In 1998, Shellenberger saw an opportunity to improve his hometown of York, Pennsylvania by restoring a piece of property and providing jobs to local residents. He purchased a rundown warehouse within city limits and renovated it to accommodate a large terminal, warehouse, office space, and ample truck parking. The City of York awarded S&H Express with the Outstanding Development Award for the development of the property.

2000
Two years later, Shellenberger founded Granite Transportation to serve local food and manufacturing companies. The company started with just one customer and two drivers. Since 2000, the company has grown steadily to provide trucking throughout the eastern US.

2002
When a shortage of temporary warehouse space threatened manufacturers and suppliers throughout south-central Pennsylvania, Shellenberger founded Shelly Rentals. The company would eventually grow to provide companies with over 800 short- and long-term storage trailers and reefers for rent at competitive prices.

2010
In 2010, Shellenberger acquired two dry bulk companies to better serve customers with bulk tanker and flatbed capabilities. Now known as S&H Bulk Transport, the company relocated to Manchester, Maryland in 2016 to haul cement, fly ash, and other aggregates for an array of clients.

2014
In 2014, Shellenberger purchased Landis Express and founded the Shelly Truck Driving School. Landis Express began expanding into the less-than-truckload (LTL) market and also expanded warehousing services with 150,000 sq. ft. of temperature-controlled storage space. The Shelly Truck Driving School is the only CDL A school in Pennsylvania that is owned and operated by a leader in the trucking and transportation industry.

2023
What began with a few people and a couple of trucks is now a team of more than 330 drivers and a 100-person support staff. We continue to seek opportunities to expand our footprint to serve our growing customer base.
